From dense subtropical forests to temperate woodlands, Shivapuri provides diverse habitats where both resident and migratory species thrive.
At altitudes ranging from 1,350 m to 2,732 m, the park is also home to leopards, Himalayan black bears, barking deer, rhesus monkeys, and 100+ butterfly species. For bird watchers, Shivapuri is particularly special as it shelters Nepal’s endemic Spiny Babbler alongside many iconic Himalayan birds.
