Yes. A Tibet Travel Permit is mandatory for all foreign travelers entering Tibet. Once you book this trip, we will handle the permit application for you. Please provide your passport and Chinese visa at least 20 days before departure.

How do I get to Chengdu for the start of the tour?

Chengdu is well-connected with direct international flights from Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, and major Chinese cities. You can also arrive by train from other regions of China.

What is the best time to travel from Chengdu to Tibet and Everest Base Camp?

The best months are April to October, with clear skies, warmer weather, and excellent visibility at Everest Base Camp. The winter season (Nov–Mar) offers fewer crowds but can be cold, and tent camps at EBC may be closed.

Is altitude sickness a concern on this tour?

Yes, altitude adjustment is important. The itinerary is designed with gradual ascent — spending time in Lhasa before heading to higher elevations. The train to Tibet also helps with gradual acclimatization. Our guides carry oxygen and provide full support.

What are accommodations like on this tour?

Hotels in Chengdu, Lhasa, and Shigatse are comfortable 3–4-star properties with modern amenities. At Everest Base Camp, accommodation is basic tented lodges or guesthouses, depending on the season.

What should I pack for this tour?

Bring warm layered clothing (even in summer), sunglasses, sunscreen, reusable water bottle, personal medications, and a camera with extra batteries. The sun is strong and the air is dry on the plateau.

Will I see Mount Everest clearly?

Usually, yes — especially at sunrise and sunset. However, visibility depends on weather conditions. Your guide will adjust timing for the best view possible.
