The Dhaulagiri Circuit Trek is one of Nepal’s most adventurous and remote trekking experiences. Encircling the mighty Dhaulagiri Range (8,167m/26,780ft), the trek spans the rugged landscapes of Myagdi District, west of the Annapurna region. Also known as the Dhaulagiri Round Trek, it is perfect for thrill-seekers and experienced trekkers seeking a combination of high passes, glacier trails, alpine meadows, and breathtaking Himalayan panoramas.

During the trek, you will cross two high passesFrench Pass (5,360m/17,590ft) and Dhampus Pass (5,244m/17,200ft) – and visit three spectacular base camps: Italian Base Camp, Glacier Camp, and Dhaulagiri Base Camp. Along the way, experience lush forests, rural villages, frozen paths, and dramatic mountain views, offering a true Himalayan adventure.

This trek is usually completed in 20 days, starting from Kathmandu, flying to Pokhara, and then driving to Darbang, where the trekking journey begins. You will finally descend to Jomsom and fly back to Kathmandu, taking home memories of a lifetime.

Dhaulagiri Circuit Trek itinerary

Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu. Transfer to your hotel and meet your trekking guide for briefing. Prepare for the journey ahead.

Take a scenic drive or flight to Pokhara. Enjoy breathtaking aerial views of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. Optional sightseeing in Pokhara Valley and relax at the lakeside.

Drive via Beni Bazaar, passing small settlements and rivers. Start trekking along Myagdi Khola, reaching Dharapani Village, your first stop.
