After spending the night in Nagarkot, you’ll witness an unforgettable sunrise before hiking down to Changunarayan Temple, one of the oldest and most artistic temples in Nepal, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Nagarkot Hiking itinerary

After breakfast at your hotel in Kathmandu, we drive to Sakhu (about 1 hour) and begin our hike. The trail gradually ascends through terraced fields and forests, becoming steeper in the last stretch before reaching Nagarkot. The hike takes about 3–4 hours. Enjoy the panoramic Himalayan views upon arrival. Overnight stay in Nagarkot.

Wake up early for a mesmerizing sunrise over the Himalayas, including views of Everest, Langtang, and Ganesh Himal on a clear day. After breakfast, hike for 2–3 hours downhill to Changunarayan Temple, an ancient UNESCO-listed temple with exquisite wood and stone carvings. After exploring the temple and having lunch, drive back to Kathmandu.
