The Sarangkot Hiking from Pokhara is a 2-day short trek near Pokhara, ideal for travelers seeking stunning Himalayan panoramas, sunrise views, and rural village experiences. Sarangkot, located at 1,600 m (5,250 ft) on the northern shore of Phewa Lake, is famous for sunrise views over Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Fishtail (Machapuchare) peaks, and for being a popular paragliding destination.
The trail passes through beautiful local villages, forests, and terraced fields, offering insights into rural Nepali life. Trekking further to Kaskikot and Naudanda gives historical context, as Kaskikot is the former seat of the Shah kings of Nepal. This trek is suitable for all fitness levels, making it a perfect introduction to hiking in the Pokhara region.
Note: If you wish, returning to Pokhara on the same day from Australian Camp is also possible.
