The Everest Panorama Trek is the perfect short Himalayan adventure, ideal for those seeking incredible mountain views without committing to high-altitude, long-distance treks. This relatively moderate trek leads you to the stunning Tengboche Monastery (3,860m)—one of the most scenic viewpoints in the Khumbu region—offering dramatic views of Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and more.
You’ll start with an exciting mountain flight to Lukla, then pass through charming Sherpa villages like Namche Bazaar and Khumjung, with stops at cultural landmarks, prayer wheels, and monasteries. This trek is a great introduction to both the natural beauty and cultural richness of the Everest region.
Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Take some time to rest and recover from your journey.
Overnight at Hotel in Kathmandu.
After breakfast, enjoy a half-day guided tour of Kathmandu, including visits to the Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple) and other heritage sites. The afternoon is free for final preparations, shopping, or relaxing.

An early morning transfer takes you to the domestic airport for a scenic 40-minute flight to Lukla, the gateway to the Khumbu region. Upon landing, meet your trekking crew and begin your trek. Descend along the trail through the Dudh Koshi Valley, passing charming villages like Choblung and Ghat, with beautiful forests of pine and rhododendron along the way.
Overnight at Lodge in Phakding.
Today’s trail follows the Dudh Koshi River upstream. Along the way, you’ll encounter porters, Sherpas, and their zopkios (hybrid yaks). Cross several suspension bridges and pass through Jorsale, the entry point of Sagarmatha National Park. After crossing the final high suspension bridge, begin a steep climb to reach Namche Bazaar, the vibrant Sherpa trading town. First glimpses of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Ama Dablam are possible on this stretch.
Overnight at Lodge in Namche Bazaar.
After breakfast, ascend on a high trail with spectacular views of Nupla, Kwangde Himal, Thamserku, and the Lhotse-Nuptse wall. Everest appears above the ridgeline—a commanding sight. Trek to Khumjung, a traditional Sherpa village less influenced by tourism. This peaceful settlement is ideal for acclimatization and cultural immersion. Don’t miss a taste of Riki Kur, a local Sherpa potato pancake made with yak butter.
Overnight at Lodge in Khumjung.
Begin the day descending to Shanasa, then follow a gently undulating trail to Trashinga. After a steep descent, cross the Dudh Koshi at Phunki Tenga (3,250m), where you’ll see traditional water-powered prayer wheels. Climb gradually through enchanting pine, juniper, and rhododendron forests to reach Tengboche Monastery, one of the most scenic and spiritual spots in the Khumbu. Surrounded by Himalayan giants, the monastery offers a stunning view of Ama Dablam and Everest.
Overnight at Lodge in Tengboche.
Retrace your steps to Phunki Tenga, cross the Dudh Koshi River again, and ascend to Trashinga. After lunch in Shanasa, descend back to Namche Bazaar and continue down to Jorsale, eventually reaching Monjo, a quiet village near the park entrance.
Overnight at Lodge in Monjo.
Follow the Dudh Koshi River through Phakding and other small settlements. Today’s walk is gentle, with a final short climb to reach the Lukla plateau. Celebrate the end of your trek with your guide and porters.
Overnight at Lodge in Lukla.
Take an early morning flight from Lukla back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day at leisure—relax, explore, or shop for souvenirs.

Everest Panorama Trek Gear & Packing List
We provide a 75L duffel bag for your trek (yours to keep). You can also rent a down jacket and sleeping bag for USD 35 each in Kathmandu. Here’s a recommended gear list:
✅ Clothing
✅ Gear & Essentials
✅ Optional Items
The Everest Panorama Trek is considered easy to moderate in difficulty. It does not reach extreme altitudes like the Everest Base Camp Trek and is suitable for beginners, families, and those with limited time. Daily walking hours range from 3 to 6 hours.
The highest point of the trek is Tengboche Monastery at 3,860 meters (12,664 feet) above sea level. This is well below the threshold for most altitude-related complications, making it a safer option for first-time trekkers.
No prior trekking experience is required. However, basic fitness and a positive mindset are important, as you’ll still be walking on hilly terrain at higher altitudes.
The best months are:
You can also trek in winter (December to February) if you are well-prepared for cold weather. Summer (monsoon) season is less favorable due to rain and slippery trails.
Lukla flights are weather-dependent, and delays or cancellations are common due to the mountain environment. During peak seasons, flights operate from Ramechhap Airport, which requires a 5–6 hour drive from Kathmandu. We strongly advise adding 1–2 buffer days after the trek to prevent disruptions to your international travel plans.
Accommodation is in local tea houses/lodges, which offer basic rooms with twin beds, shared bathrooms, and simple meals. You will stay in standard hotels in Kathmandu before and after the trek.
Tea houses serve a variety of meals, including:
