FAQs - Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need separate visas for Nepal, Tibet, and Bhutan?

Yes.

  • Nepal: Visa can be obtained on arrival at Kathmandu Airport.
  • Tibet: Tibet Travel Permit and Group Visa are arranged by us as part of your tour. You don’t need to visit the Chinese embassy yourself.
  • Bhutan: Bhutan visa is pre-arranged by our Bhutan partner and issued on arrival.

What travel permits are required for Tibet?

All foreign travelers need a Tibet Travel Permit (for entry) and additional permits for places like Shigatse, Gyantse, and Everest Base Camp.
Your tour operator will arrange all permits in advance.

When is the best time to take this tour?

The best seasons are:

  • Spring (March–May): Mild weather, blooming rhododendrons, and clear mountain views.
  • Autumn (September–November): Crisp skies, pleasant temperatures, and the best Himalayan visibility.

Winter is possible but cold in Tibet and at high-altitude areas, while summer (June–August) can bring monsoon rains in Nepal and Bhutan.

What is the altitude like during the tour? Will I feel altitude sickness?

This tour includes travel to high-altitude regions:

  • Lhasa: 3,650 m
  • Shigatse: 3,900 m
  • Everest Base Camp: 5,200 m
  • Paro: 2,200 m

Most travelers acclimatize without problems if they rest, stay hydrated, and avoid overexertion during the first few days. Your guide will monitor your health, and we design the itinerary to allow gradual altitude adjustment.

How physically demanding is the tour?

This is a moderate-level cultural and scenic tour.

  • Most sightseeing is by car/coach with short walks.
  • The main physical activity is the hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery in Paro, which takes about 4–5 hours (round trip) on a well-marked trail. Ponies are available up to halfway for those who prefer.

Can solo travelers join this tour?

Yes. Solo travelers are welcome and can either join a group departure or book a private tour.
Single-room supplements will apply for solo travelers choosing private accommodation.

What is included in the package price?

The package typically includes:

  • Airport transfers and ground transportation
  • Hotel accommodations (twin sharing)
  • Daily breakfast in Nepal and Tibet; full board (meals) in Bhutan
  • Licensed local guides in each country
  • Tibet travel permits and other necessary permits
  • Entrance fees to all listed sites

Exclusions include international flights, Nepal visa, Bhutan and Tibet visa fees, personal expenses, tips, and travel insurance.

Are flights between the countries included?

Yes. The package includes Kathmandu–Lhasa, Lhasa–Kathmandu, and Kathmandu–Paro flights.
International flights to/from Nepal at the start or end of the trip are not included.

What kind of accommodation is provided?

We use comfortable 3–4 star hotels in city areas (Kathmandu, Pokhara, Lhasa, Shigatse, Paro, Thimphu, Punakha) and the best available guesthouses or tented camps at Rongbuk Monastery near Everest Base Camp, as it’s a remote location.

What should I pack for this tour?

Recommended essentials:

  • Layered clothing (for changing temperatures)
  • Warm jacket for high-altitude areas, especially in Tibet and EBC
  • Comfortable walking shoes/hiking boots for Tiger’s Nest hike
  • Sunglasses, sunscreen, and lip balm
  • Refillable water bottle
  • Personal medicines and a basic first-aid kit
  • Passport with at least 6 months validity

Is travel insurance required?

Yes. Comprehensive travel insurance covering medical emergencies, evacuation, and trip cancellations is mandatory, especially because parts of the tour are at high altitude.

Can the itinerary be customized?

Absolutely. We can tailor the itinerary to include extra days for trekking, cultural experiences, or relaxation, as well as accommodate special interests (e.g., photography, festivals, or luxury stays).

Is it safe to travel to these regions?

Yes. Nepal, Tibet, and Bhutan are considered safe for tourists.
You’ll be accompanied by experienced local guides throughout your journey, and we prioritize your health and safety at all times.

Do I need to be concerned about food and drinking water?

In major cities, meals are prepared hygienically.
We recommend drinking bottled or purified water only, which is provided during the tour.
In Bhutan, all meals are included, typically featuring healthy and freshly cooked local dishes.
