Annapurna Circuit Trek overview

Since opening to trekkers in 1977, the Annapurna Circuit Trek has earned a legendary reputation as one of the world’s greatest long-distance trekking routes. This two-week Himalayan journey leads you through an extraordinary range of landscapes—from lush subtropical forests and terraced farmland to high alpine meadows and the arid, windswept valleys of the trans-Himalayan region.

The trek begins in the lower elevations of the Annapurna region, where you’ll pass through traditional villages, cross suspension bridges over glacial rivers, and experience the cultural richness of Gurung, Thakali, and Tibetan-influenced communities. As the trail ascends, you’ll be surrounded by breathtaking views of towering peaks, including Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Manaslu.

The highlight of the trek is the challenging ascent to Thorong La Pass (5,416 m)—the highest point on the route. From here, you’re rewarded with sweeping views of the Himalayas and a profound sense of accomplishment. The journey then descends into the mystical region of Mustang, offering a stark contrast in landscape and culture.

Along the way, you’ll soak in natural hot springs at Tatopani, enjoy a spectacular sunrise from Poon Hill, and eventually conclude your adventure in the peaceful lakeside city of Pokhara.

Please note: While recent road construction has affected portions of the original trail, our carefully designed itinerary avoids these roads wherever possible to ensure a truly immersive and authentic trekking experience.

Whether you’re drawn by the diverse scenery, the cultural richness, or the challenge of high-altitude trekking, the Annapurna Circuit offers a deeply rewarding and unforgettable Himalayan adventure.
