The Australian Camp Hiking is a 2-day easy trek near Pokhara, ideal for travelers who want spectacular views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges without long trekking. The trail passes through Kande, Australian Camp, Dhampus village, and Phedi, offering panoramic Himalayan vistas, terraced fields, and rural village experiences.

From Australian Camp (2,100 m), you can enjoy sunrise and sunset views over Annapurna South, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), Himchuli, Annapurna II, III, IV, Lamjung Himal, and Manaslu ranges. The trail is suitable for beginners and families, providing an easy and scenic Himalayan experience close to Pokhara.

Australian Camp Hiking itinerary

  • 08:00 AM: Pickup from hotel in Pokhara and drive to Kande (approx. 45 minutes).
  • 09:00 AM – 11:00 AM: Hike from Kande to Australian Camp, passing through forests and terraced landscapes. Enjoy close-up Himalayan views along the way.
  • Afternoon: Explore Australian Camp village and enjoy sunset views over the Annapurna and Machhapuchhre ranges.
  • Overnight: Stay at lodge/hotel at Australian Camp.

Note: If you wish, returning to Pokhara on the same day from Australian Camp is also possible.

  • 05:30 AM: Optional sunrise view over the Himalayas from Australian Camp.
  • 07:00 AM: Breakfast at lodge.
  • 08:00 AM – 10:00 AM: Hike down to Dhampus village through forested trails. Explore the village lifestyle and scenic surroundings.
  • 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM: Continue trek down to Phedi via stone steps and terraced fields.
  • 12:30 PM: Drive back to Pokhara (approx. 30 minutes).
