Lobuche East Peak Climbing offers a thrilling Himalayan adventure with a perfect blend of trekking and mountaineering. Standing at 6,119m (20,075 ft), Lobuche East is one of Nepal’s most popular trekking peaks, located near Everest Base Camp in the Khumbu region.
Compared to technical expeditions, Lobuche East is considered a relatively achievable climb, suitable for both beginners and experienced trekkers who have undertaken proper preparation. The journey combines cultural exploration, scenic trekking, and the exhilaration of peak climbing in the Everest region.
The adventure begins with a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, followed by trekking through Sagarmatha National Park. You’ll pass iconic Sherpa villages such as Phakding, Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, Dingboche, and Lobuche, with stops at Everest Base Camp (5,364m) and Kala Patthar (5,545m) before heading towards Lobuche East Base Camp. Along the trail, trekkers encounter dense rhododendron and pine forests, high-altitude glaciers, Buddhist monasteries, and breathtaking mountain views.
Reaching the summit of Lobuche East rewards climbers with unparalleled panoramas of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Makalu, Pumori, Thamserku, and Cholatse. The experience is more than just a climb – it’s a cultural immersion into Sherpa heritage, a walk through natural diversity, and a deeply spiritual journey in the heart of the Himalayas.
Our representative will welcome you at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) and transfer you to your hotel. After check-in, you may rest or explore the lively streets of Thamel.

Lobuche East is considered a moderately challenging trekking peak. It does not require advanced technical climbing skills but does involve steep snow and ice slopes where ropes, crampons, and ice axes are needed. Good fitness and prior trekking experience are recommended.
Beginners with strong trekking backgrounds can attempt Lobuche East, especially with pre-climb training at Base Camp. Having some experience with high-altitude trekking or basic mountaineering is helpful.
The best time is during spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November). These seasons offer stable weather, clear skies, and favorable climbing conditions.
The standard itinerary is 18 days, including acclimatization, trekking to Everest Base Camp, summit attempt, and return to Kathmandu.
You’ll need a Lobuche East Climbing Permit, Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit, and a Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Permit. These are usually arranged by your trekking agency.
During the trek, accommodation is in tea houses/lodges, while at Base Camp and High Camp you will stay in tented camps.
With proper acclimatization and professional guidance, the success rate is quite high – around 80–90% for climbers in good health.
Yes, you must have comprehensive travel insurance that covers high-altitude trekking, climbing, and helicopter evacuation in case of emergencies.
