The Panchase Trek is one of the most unique and scenic short treks in the Pokhara region, located in the Annapurna Conservation Area of Nepal. Panchase, meaning “five seats of the mother,” symbolizes the five levels of human experience—thinking, feeling, sensing, manifesting, and reflecting. This trek combines cultural exploration, natural beauty, and panoramic Himalayan views into a compact, four-day adventure.
Starting with a gentle boat ride across Phewa Lake, trekkers are greeted with the splendid vistas of the Annapurna and Machhapuchhre ranges, along with lush forests, traditional villages, and an untouched biodiversity that makes Panchase a true natural heritage site.
The trek passes through rhododendron forests, orchid-rich protected areas, and small ethnic villages inhabited by Gurung, Brahmin, Magar, and Kami communities. At the summit of Panchase Hill (2,500 m), trekkers enjoy spectacular 360° views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre, Lamjung, Gangapurna, and Manaslu. Panchase is also a spiritual site for Hindus, adding cultural richness to this peaceful trekking experience. Suitable for all ages and fitness levels, this trek is ideal for nature lovers, photographers, and short-term trekkers looking for an unforgettable Himalayan experience.
After breakfast, enjoy a boat ride across Phewa Lake to the trailhead. Begin your trek ascending to the World Peace Pagoda, offering magnificent panoramic views of the lake and surrounding mountains. Continue through rhododendron forests and small villages like Lukum Swara. Reach Bumdi village, inhabited by Gurung and Brahmin communities. Trek distance: 10 km (~3 hours). Overnight stay in camps.
Start early trekking through lush forests, listening to birds and observing wildlife such as monkeys. Enjoy intermittent mountain views, including Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Manaslu, Machhapuchhre, and Gangapurna. Trek along jeep trails to reach Panchase Bhanjyang, a hilltop pass offering scenic landscapes. Trek distance: 10.5 km (~4 hours). Overnight stay in camps.
Ascend to Panchase Peak, the highest point of the trek. Optionally, wake up early to catch a stunning sunrise over the Himalayas. Enjoy panoramic 360° views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, and Machhapuchhre. Descend via Aldana hills to reach Bhadaure village, experiencing local cultures of Brahmin, Gurung, and Kami communities. Trek distance: 7.5 km (~3 hours). Overnight stay in camps.
Trek or drive from Bhadaure to Naudanda, interacting with locals along the way. Enjoy lunch and then travel by jeep or bus to Pokhara, relishing the scenic hills and valleys en route. Optional trekking to Pokhara takes ~7 hours. Overnight stay at hotel in Pokhara (not included in package).
