Machhapuchhre Model Trek is an excellent alternative to the increasingly busy and road-affected Annapurna Circuit. For trekkers who wish to avoid the newly constructed motor roads in the Annapurna region, this trail offers the perfect escape.
“Machhapuchhre” in Nepali means fishtail, aptly named due to the mountain’s distinctive double-summit resembling the tail of a fish. This magnificent peak stands in a class of its own. The trek provides an unforgettable opportunity to explore diverse vegetation, ancient cultural traditions, indigenous communities, and dramatic Himalayan scenery. Along the trail, you will also encounter natural caves, hot springs, waterfalls, lush forests, and scenic tea gardens.
The Machhapuchhre Model Trek can be completed either by camping or staying in traditional homestays in the charming villages of Machhapuchhre, Ribhan, Lachok, Ghachok, Lwang Ghalel, Sardikhola, and Dhital. The homestay program has greatly benefited more than 16,000 local villagers, making this trek both enriching and community-supportive.
This classic trekking journey offers spectacular views of Mt. Mardi, Mt. Machhapuchhre, Mt. Annapurna, Mt. Dhaulagiri, and surrounding Himalayan peaks forming a stunning amphitheater-like formation around a glacier-covered dome.
Step into the heart of the Himalayas and join Adventure Friendship to experience this extraordinary expedition. Don’t miss the chance to witness the awe-inspiring beauty of snow-clad peaks from close proximity.
Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, meet our representative and transfer to your hotel. Trek briefing and orientation in the evening.
