Gangtey Valley Trek itinerary

Welcome to Bhutan! Upon arrival at Paro International Airport (2,280m), meet your representative from Amen Bhutan Tours & Treks and transfer to your hotel.
The rest of the day is free to relax or explore Paro town. Enjoy a welcome dinner and trek briefing.
Overnight in Paro.

After breakfast, visit Paro Rinpung Dzong, then drive to Thimphu, Bhutan’s vibrant capital. Explore Buddha Dordenma, National Memorial Chorten, and Folk Heritage Museum.

Overnight in Thimphu.

Drive 5 hours via Dochula Pass (3,100m) to Phobjikha Valley. Visit the historic Gangtey Monastery overlooking the valley.

Overnight in Gangtey.

Start your trek through meadows and rhododendron forests to Tsele La Pass (3,400m), then descend to Gogona Village.

Trekking time: 5–6 hours.
Overnight at camp or guesthouse in Gogona.

Ascend to Shobju La Pass (3,400m) before descending through forests to the peaceful Khotokha Valley.

Trekking time: 6 hours.
Overnight in Khotokha.

Descend through forests and open terrain to Tikke Zampa, where the trek concludes.

Drive to Punakha and visit the majestic Punakha Dzong by the river.
Overnight in Punakha.

Visit Punakha Suspension Bridge in the morning, then drive back to Thimphu via Dochula Pass.

Explore local sites and markets in the evening.
Overnight in Thimphu.

Drive across Chele La Pass (3,810m) to the peaceful Haa Valley. Visit Lhakhang Karpo & Lhakhang Nagpo, and enjoy a local lunch.
Return to Thimphu by evening.

Drive to Paro and hike to the legendary Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest), perched dramatically on a cliff.

Descend and return to Paro for your farewell dinner.
