Detailed Itinerary

  • Day 1 : Arrive Paro by Air – Transfer to Thimphu (55 km / approx. 1½ hrs)

    Arrive at Paro International Airport on one of the world’s most scenic flights, offering breathtaking views of the Himalayan range. After immigration formalities, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative.

    Drive to Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital city, with an en-route stop at Chuzom, the confluence of the Paro and Thimphu rivers, adorned with Tibetan, Nepalese, and Bhutanese-style stupas. View Tschogang Lhakhang, a 15th-century private temple associated with Avalokiteshvara (the Buddha of Compassion).

    Upon arrival in Thimphu, visit:

    • Buddha Dordenma (Buddha Point / Kuensel Phodrang) – offering panoramic views of Thimphu Valley
    • King’s Memorial Chorten – a spiritual landmark dedicated to peace and prosperity
    • Trashichhoedzong – the seat of Bhutan’s government and summer residence of the monastic body

    Overnight in Thimphu.

  • Day 2 : Thimphu – Punakha (75 km / approx. 3 hrs)

    After breakfast, drive to Punakha via the scenic Dochula Pass (3,080 m). On clear days, enjoy stunning views of the eastern Himalayan peaks and the 108 memorial chortens surrounded by prayer flags.

    Upon arrival, visit:

    • Punakha Dzong – Bhutan’s most beautiful and historically significant fortress, located at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers

    Later, enjoy an excursion to Chimi Lhakhang (Fertility Temple). From the road head, walk through picturesque rice fields and traditional villages to reach this sacred site, known for blessing couples seeking children and offering insights into rural Bhutanese life.

    Overnight in Punakha.

  • Day 3 : Punakha – Paro (120 km / approx. 4½ hrs)

    After breakfast, drive back to Paro, passing through scenic valleys and forested mountain roads.

    In the afternoon, visit:

    • Ta Dzong (National Museum of Bhutan) – showcasing Bhutanese art, textiles, weapons, thangka paintings, and historical artifacts
    • Rinpung Dzong (Paro Dzong) – an impressive fortress-monastery featuring beautiful murals depicting Buddhist legends

    Overnight in Paro.

  • Day 4 : Paro – Excursion to Tiger’s Nest Monastery

    Today marks the highlight of your Bhutan journey. After breakfast, hike to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest), dramatically perched on a cliff 900 meters above Paro Valley. According to legend, Guru Rinpoche flew here on the back of a tigress and meditated at this sacred site.

    The round-trip hike takes approximately 4–5 hours, with breathtaking views throughout. After returning, visit:

    • Kyichu Lhakhang – a sacred 7th-century temple and one of the oldest in Bhutan

    Overnight in Paro.

  • Day 5 : Departure from Paro

    After early breakfast, transfer to Paro International Airport for your onward flight. Our representative will assist with departure formalities and bid you farewell.
