Detailed Itinerary

  • Day 1 : Drive from Kathmandu to Arughat (710m)

The adventure begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu (7–8 hours). The first stretch is smooth on a paved highway, followed by a bumpy off-road ride from Gorkha to Arughat — the starting point of your trek.

  • Day 2 : Arughat to Soti Khola (815m)

The trek begins through lush valleys, paddy fields, and terraced hills. Following the Budhi Gandaki River, you’ll cross small villages and forests before reaching Soti Khola. A refreshing swim in the river is a perfect way to end the day.

  • Day 3 : Soti Khola to Machha Khola (900m)

Walk through narrow trails along densely forested hillsides. The path ascends and descends through rocky terrain and small Gurung villages. Reach Machha Khola (“Fish River”) and camp near the riverbank.

  • Day 4 : Machha Khola to Jagat (1,410m)

Cross suspension bridges, walk through forested paths, and enjoy a hot spring at Khorlabesi. Continue through Doban village and Lauri to reach Jagat — a charming stone village marking the entrance to the Manaslu Conservation Area.

  • Day 5 : Jagat to Deng (1,804m)

Descend to the river, then climb through terraced hillsides to Saguleri for views of Sringi Himal (7,187m). After several crossings of the Budhi Gandaki, reach the small village of Deng, known for its Tibetan-style houses.

  • Day 6 : Deng to Ghap (2,160m)

Trek through Lana village and forests adorned with mani stones carved with Buddhist prayers. The scenery turns more alpine as you reach Ghap — a picturesque hamlet surrounded by farmland.

  • Day 7 : Ghap to Lho Gaon (3,180m)

After crossing the Budhi Gandaki River, the trail climbs toward Namrung, offering spectacular mountain views. Pass through Sho village before reaching Lho Gaon, with its iconic view of Manaslu’s north face.

  • Day 8 : Lho Gaon to Sama Gaon (3,520m)

Continue along high alpine meadows and yak pastures toward Sama Gaon, the largest village in the region. En route, admire the impressive glaciers and towering Manaslu range.

  • Day 9 : Acclimatization Day in Sama Gaon

Rest and explore Sama Gaon. Optional hike to Manaslu Base Camp (4,800m) for close-up views of the glaciers and peaks. Visit Sama Gompa and learn about local monastic life.

  • Day 10 : Sama Gaon to Samdo (3,875m)

A short and scenic trek to Samdo, located near the Tibetan border. This village offers incredible photo opportunities and insight into cross-border trading traditions.

  • Day 11 : Samdo to Dharmasala (4,460m)

Ascend gradually toward Larkya Bazaar and Dharmasala, also known as Larkya Phedi — the base before crossing the high pass. Overnight in a basic lodge with views of Larkya Peak.

  • Day 12 : Cross Larkya La Pass (5,160m) – Trek to Bhimtang (3,720m)

Start early for the challenging climb over Larkya La Pass. Enjoy panoramic views of Annapurna II, Cheo Himal, Himlung Himal, and Manaslu. Descend to the beautiful glacial valley of Bhimtang.

  • Day 13 : Bhimtang to Goa (2,515m)

Descend through rhododendron forests with stunning views of Manaslu and Annapurna. Cross the Dudh Khola (Milk River) and reach Goa village.

  • Day 14 : Goa to Tal (1,700m)

The trail follows the Marsyangdi River valley, descending through lush forests and past waterfalls before reaching Tal, a village that was once a lake.

  • Day 15 : Tal to Ghermu Phant (1,130m)

Continue through steep river valleys and terraced farmland surrounded by the Himalayan ranges. Stop overnight at Ghermu Phant.

  • Day 16 : Ghermu Phant to Bhulbhule – Drive to Besisahar

Walk past Bahundanda and Ngadi villages to Bhulbhule, then drive to Besisahar, the endpoint of your trek.
