Detailed Itinerary

  • Day 1 : Drive from Kathmandu (1400m) to Sundarijal (1350m) then trek to Chisapani (2165m)

    After breakfast at your hotel in Kathmandu, drive for about an hour to Sundarijal, the starting point of the trek. Enter Shivapuri National Park, obtain your permit, and begin trekking. The trail gradually ascends through forests, streams, and traditional villages, reaching Mulkharka for a lunch or refreshment break. Continue along stone-paved steps to Chisapani, renowned for its spectacular views of Langtang, Dorje Lakpa, Ganesh Himal, and Gaurishankar. Overnight in a tea house or lodge.

  • Day 2 : Trek from Chisapani (2165m) to Nagarkot (2175m)

    Depart Chisapani and continue through Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park, home to wildlife such as Indian leopard, Himalayan black bear, mongooses, porcupines, and pangolins. Bird watchers will enjoy spotting the yellow-throated marten and Himalayan monal. Stop for lunch at Chauki Bhanjyang or Jhule, then continue trekking to Nagarkot, where panoramic Himalayan vistas await at dusk. Overnight at a 3-star hotel in Nagarkot with breakfast included.

  • Day 3 : Trek from Nagarkot (2175m) to Changu Narayan then drive back to Kathmandu

    Wake up early to witness the stunning sunrise over 8 Himalayan ranges, including Mount Everest. After breakfast, trek downhill for about 4 hours to Changu Narayan Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the oldest temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Explore the temple complex and surrounding cultural museum before boarding a vehicle for the return drive to Kathmandu.
