Detailed Itinerary

  • Day 1 : Arrive in Kathmandu
    • Arrive in Kathmandu and transfer to the hotel.
    • Evening briefing about the Kailash Manasarovar Yatra.
      Accommodation: Hotel in Kathmandu
  • Day 2 : Kathmandu – Nepalgunj
    • Morning visit to Pashupatinath Temple and Sleeping Vishnu (Budhanilkantha).
    • Afternoon transfer to the airport for flight to Nepalgunj.
      Accommodation: Hotel in Nepalgunj
  • Day 3 : Nepalgunj – Simikot – Hilsa – Taklakot (Purang)
    • Early morning flight to Simikot for immigration formalities.
    • Continue by chartered helicopter to Hilsa (Nepal–Tibet border).
    • Cross the Karnali River on foot to reach Purang (Taklakot), where Tibetan guides and vehicles await.

  • Day 4 : Acclimatization Day at Taklakot
    • Rest and acclimatize at Taklakot (Purang), preparing for the high-altitude journey ahead.

  • Day 5 : Taklakot – Lake Manasarovar (120 km / 3 hrs)
    • Drive to the sacred Lake Manasarovar.
    • Spend the day performing holy bath, puja, and meditation on the tranquil shores.
      Accommodation: Camp or Guesthouse near Lake Manasarovar
  • Day 6 : Manasarovar – Tarchen – Astapath (if permitted)
    • Drive to Tarchen (Darchen), the base camp for Kailash Parikrama.
    • If permitted, visit Astapath, the most sacred viewpoint for Lord Shiva devotees.
      Accommodation: Hotel in Tarchen
  • Day 7 : Tarchen – Dirapuk (Kailash Parikrama Begins)
    • Start the Kailash Parikrama from Yamadwar (Tarboche).
    • Trek to Dirapuk (5000m) – one of the most scenic and spiritually charged days, with close-up views of Mt. Kailash.
      Accommodation: Guesthouse in Dirapuk
  • Day 8 : Dirapuk – Zuthulpuk via Dolma-La Pass (5630m)
    • The most challenging yet holiest part of the journey.
    • Cross the Dolma-La Pass, visit Gauri Kunda, and descend to Zuthulpuk.
      Accommodation: Camp or Guesthouse in Zuthulpuk
  • Day 9 : Zuthulpuk – Darchen – Taklakot
    • Complete the Parikrama (9 km / 3–4 hrs) and return to Darchen.
    • Drive back to Taklakot.
      Accommodation: Guesthouse or camp in Taklakot
  • Day 10 : Taklakot – Hilsa – Simikot – Nepalgunj – Kathmandu
    • Early morning drive to Hilsa, visiting Khojarnath Temple (dedicated to Lord Ram, Sita, and Laxman).
    • Fly by helicopter to Simikot, then by scheduled flight to Nepalgunj, and onward to Kathmandu.

  • Day 11 : Final Departure
    • Transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport for onward journey.
