Detailed Itinerary

  • Day 1 : Arrival in Lhasa (3,656m)

    Upon arrival at Lhasa airport or train station, you’ll be warmly welcomed with a traditional Tibetan Hada scarf. Enjoy a scenic drive along the Yarlung Tsangpo and Lhasa rivers before checking into your hotel. The rest of the day is for rest and acclimatization.

  • Day 2 : Drepung and Sera Monasteries

    Begin your cultural journey with a visit to Drepung Monastery, once the largest in Tibet, where you’ll explore its grand halls and monastic life. In the afternoon, continue to Sera Monastery to witness the famous monks’ debates, a lively tradition that brings Tibetan Buddhist philosophy to life.

  • Day 3 : Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Street

    Discover the iconic Potala Palace, former residence of the Dalai Lamas, and admire its treasures and panoramic views. Visit Longwangtan Park for another angle of the palace before heading to Jokhang Temple, Tibet’s most sacred shrine. Stroll around Barkhor Street with pilgrims and enjoy Tibetan sweet tea in a lively local tea house.

  • Day 4 : Excursion to Yamdrok Lake

    Take a scenic drive to Yamdrok Lake, a dazzling turquoise gem surrounded by snow-capped peaks. Enjoy stunning views from multiple platforms, visit the monastery on Rutog Island, and meet its solitary monk. Savor a local family-style lunch by the lakeshore before returning to Lhasa via the dramatic Gampala Pass.

  • Day 5 : Departure from Lhasa

    Your guide will transfer you to the airport or train station for your onward journey, marking the end of your Tibet adventure.
