Detailed Itinerary

  • Day 1 : Arrival in Lhasa (3,650m)

    Warm Tibetan welcome at the airport/train station with a traditional Hada scarf. Scenic drive into Lhasa, passing the Yarlung Tsangpo and Lhasa rivers. Rest and acclimatize.

  • Day 2 : Drepung and Sera Monasteries

    Explore Drepung Monastery, once home to 10,000 monks, and learn about Tibetan Buddhist philosophy. In the afternoon, witness the famous monks’ debates at Sera Monastery.

  • Day 3 : Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple & Barkhor Street

    Tour the Potala Palace, visit Longwangtan Park for unique palace views, then head to Jokhang Temple and walk the kora around Barkhor Street with pilgrims. Enjoy tea in a local tea house.

  • Day 4 : Lhasa – Yamdrok Lake – Gyantse – Shigatse (360 km)

    Drive over Gampala Pass for panoramic views of Yamdrok Lake and Mt. Nyenchen Khangsar. Visit a local family for lunch by the lake. Stop at Korola Glacier and Simila Pass before arriving in Shigatse via Gyantse.

  • Day 5 : Shigatse – Everest Base Camp (5,000m)

    Scenic drive across Gyatsola and Gawula passes with sweeping Himalayan views. Zigzag road descent brings you closer to Everest. Arrive at EBC to witness sunset over Mt. Everest. Overnight at EBC or nearby village.

  • Day 6 : Everest Base Camp – Sakya – Shigatse

    Catch sunrise over Everest before visiting Rongbuk Monastery. Return via Dinggye and Sakya, stopping at viewpoints of Everest and Mt. Lhotse. Enjoy a cultural evening in Shigatse.

  • Day 7 : Shigatse – Tashilhunpo Monastery – Lhasa

    Morning visit to Tashilhunpo Monastery, home of the Panchen Lama. Return to Lhasa along the Yarlung Tsangpo River. Free time in Barkhor Street.

  • Day 8 : Departure from Lhasa

    Transfer to airport/train station for departure. End of tour.
