Detailed Itinerary

  • Day 1 : Arrival in Paro (2,260m) – Transfer to Thimphu (2,300m) – 2 hrs drive
    • Scenic flight with Himalayan views.
    • Visit Kyichu Lhakhang and Paro Dzong (if time permits).
    • Evening drive to Thimphu.
  • Day 2 : Thimphu Sightseeing – Drive to Punakha (1,250m) – 3-4 hrs
    • Visit Memorial Chorten, National Library, Drubthob Nunnery, Folk Heritage Museum, Handmade Paper Factory, and the School of Arts & Crafts (13 traditional crafts).
    • Stop at Dochu La Pass (3,100m) for tea and Himalayan views.
    • Continue to Punakha for overnight stay.
  • Day 3 : Excursion to Gangtey (2,890m) & Wangdiphodrang (1,460m) – 6-7 hrs
    • Visit Punakha Dzong (1636), one of Bhutan’s most stunning fortresses.
    • Drive to Gangtey (Phobjikha Valley) and explore Gangtey Monastery.
    • Return for overnight stay in Wangdiphodrang.
  • Day 4 : Wangdiphodrang – Drive to Paro (3-4 hrs)
