Detailed Itinerary

  • Day 1 : Arrival in Paro and Transfer to Thimphu (2 hrs drive, 2,300m)
    • Scenic flight with views of Himalayan peaks like Jumolhari and Jichu Drake.
    • Airport pickup and transfer to hotel.
    • If time permits, visit Kyichu Lhakhang and Paro Dzong.
    • Evening drive to Thimphu.
  • Day 2 : Thimphu Sightseeing and Drive to Punakha (3–4 hrs drive, 1,250m)
    • Sightseeing in Thimphu: Memorial Chorten, National Library, Drubthob Nunnery, Folk Heritage Museum, Handmade Paper Factory, School of Arts & Crafts, and Handicraft Emporium.
    • Afternoon drive to Punakha via Dochula Pass (3,100m) for spectacular Himalayan views.
    • Overnight in Punakha.
  • Day 3 : Punakha Excursion and Drive to Paro (4 hrs drive, 1,460m)
    • Morning visit to the majestic Punakha Dzong (1636).
    • Drive back to Paro with sightseeing stops.
    • Visit National Museum of Bhutan, Drukgyel Dzong, Rinpung Dzong, and a traditional farmhouse.
    • Enjoy views of Mt. Jumolhari.
  • Day 4 : Paro – Hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery (3,120m)
