Detailed Itinerary

  • Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu [1,345m/4,411ft]

    Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), you will be welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel in central Kathmandu. After check-in, you may rest or explore the nearby area depending on your arrival time. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Nepali welcome dinner and meet your climbing guide and team members.

  • Day 2 : Kathmandu Sightseeing & Preparation Day

    Today, we explore some of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Kathmandu Valley, often called the “city of temples.” Sites may include Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), Pashupatinath, Boudhanath Stupa, and Kathmandu Durbar Square. Meanwhile, we also complete necessary paperwork and preparations for the Chulu West Peak expedition.

    Note: It is not possible to visit all heritage sites in one day. Usually, 3–4 key sites are covered.

  • Day 3 : Drive from Kathmandu to Chamje [1,410m/4,626ft] – 8/9 hrs

    We begin our journey with a scenic drive along the Prithvi Highway, following the Trishuli and later the Marsyangdi River. The drive offers views of lush hillsides, rural villages, and local life. Previously, vehicles could only reach Besisahar, but with road extensions, we now drive further up to Chamje.

  • Day 4 : Trek from Chamje to Dharapani [1,960m/6,430ft] – 5/6 hrs

    Our trek begins with a suspension bridge crossing over the Marsyangdi River. The trail passes through dense forests, terraced fields, and the charming village of Tal. Continuing via Karte and landslide-affected sections, we reach Dharapani, a Gurung village.

  • Day 5 : Trek from Dharapani to Chame [2,710m/8,891ft] – 5/6 hrs

    Today’s trail follows forested paths and landslide-affected sections, passing the Tibetan-style village of Bagarchhap. We then head towards Koto, the gateway to Naar Phu Valley, before continuing to Chame – the administrative center of Manang district.

  • Day 6 : Trek from Chame to Pisang [3,300m/10,824ft] – 5/6 hrs

    Following the Marsyangdi River, we pass Bharatang, cross a suspension bridge, and climb steadily to Dhikur Pokhari. A walk through pine forests leads us to Pisang village, where stunning views of Pisang Peak and Annapurna II await.

  • Day 7 : Trek from Pisang to Manang [3,450m/11,316ft] – 5/6 hrs

    We trek via Upper Pisang and Geru village, enjoying breathtaking views of Annapurna II, III, Tilicho Peak, Gangapurna, and Chulu East. We also visit Barge Monastery, the largest in the region, before reaching Manang – the biggest settlement of the area.

  • Day 8 : Acclimatization Day at Manang

    A rest and acclimatization day in Manang helps prepare for higher altitudes. We recommend short hikes to Gangapurna Lake (Chongkor Viewpoint) or Praken Gompa, which offer superb mountain views.

  • Day 9 : Trek from Manang to Ledar via Yak Kharka [4,167m/13,667ft] – 5/6 hrs

    We ascend gradually through alpine landscapes to reach Yak Kharka, a seasonal pastureland. A short climb from Yak Kharka brings us to Ledar, where we set up camp.

  • Day 10 : Trek from Ledar to Chulu West Base Camp [4,920m/16,137ft] – 5 hrs

    We trek on a relatively easy trail to Chulu West Base Camp, where magnificent views of Annapurna and surrounding peaks unfold. Our crew establishes camp while we explore the base area.

  • Day 11 : Trek from Base Camp to Camp I [5,170m/16,957ft] – 4/5 hrs

    The trail to Camp I is non-technical but requires careful footing on slippery sections. Along the way, we enjoy panoramic views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Gangapurna, and Lamjung Himal.

  • Day 12 : Acclimatization at Camp I / Reserve Day

    We spend an acclimatization day at Camp I. Our Sherpa guide provides training on rope fixing, gear use, and technical climbing techniques. Equipment checks and health evaluations are also conducted.

  • Day 13 : Trek from Camp I to Camp II [5,400m/17,712ft] – 4/5 hrs

    We climb gradually to Camp II over rocky terrain. Though not highly technical, certain sections may require the use of ropes, crampons, and ice axe. We rest and prepare for the summit push.

  • Day 14 : Summit Chulu West Peak [6,419m/21,054ft] & Return to Camp I – 8/9 hrs

    We begin before dawn, following our Sherpa guide’s lead to the summit. The climb is straightforward, though some loose rock sections require fixed ropes. From the summit, breathtaking 360° views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, and beyond await. After celebration and photos, we descend to Camp I.

  • Day 15 : Trek from Camp I to Ledar – 5/6 hrs

    After a successful summit, we descend back to Ledar, enjoying sweeping views of the Annapurna range.

  • Day 16 : Trek from Ledar to Thorong Phedi [4,600m/15,092ft] – 4/5 hrs

    We descend slightly, then climb steadily towards Thorong Phedi, the base of Thorong La Pass. The route offers views of Mt. Gundang, Mt. Syagang, Thorong Peak, and Khatungkan.

  • Day 17 : Cross Thorong La Pass [5,416m/17,764ft] & Trek to Muktinath [3,800m/12,467ft] – 8/9 hrs

    A challenging but rewarding day as we cross Thorong La Pass, marked by prayer flags and memorials. From the pass, spectacular mountain views unfold before we descend to Muktinath, a sacred Hindu-Buddhist pilgrimage site.

  • Day 18 : Trek from Muktinath to Jomsom [2,670m/8,757ft] – 5/6 hrs

    After visiting Muktinath Temple and its sacred 108 water spouts, we drive/trek down to Jomsom, the district headquarters of Mustang.

  • Day 19 : Flight from Jomsom to Pokhara & Sightseeing

    We take a short morning flight to Pokhara, where we relax or explore major attractions such as Phewa Lake, Davis Falls, Mahendra Cave, and World Peace Stupa.

  • Day 20 : Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu – 6/7 hrs

    A scenic drive along the Prithvi Highway takes us back to Kathmandu, with views of rivers, hills, and rural settlements.

  • Day 21 : Free Day in Kathmandu & Farewell Dinner

    A spare day in Kathmandu to relax or explore. You may visit additional sites or shop for souvenirs in Thamel. In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner with the climbing team.

  • Day 22 : Final Departure

    Our team will transfer you to Tribhuvan International Airport for your departure flight.
