Detailed Itinerary

  • Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400m)

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, our representative will warmly welcome you and arrange a private transfer to your hotel in Thamel. After check-in, you can either relax after your journey or explore some of Kathmandu’s cultural attractions. In the evening, you will meet your guide for a detailed trek briefing and a final equipment check. Overnight in Kathmandu.

  • Day 2 : Drive from Kathmandu (1,400m) to Dhunche (1,960m)

Your Gosaikunda Lake Trek begins after breakfast. Your guide will escort you to the Machha Pokhari bus station, where you’ll board a bus to Dhunche. The scenic 5–6 hour drive passes through terraced fields, forested hills, rivers, and charming villages along the Trishuli River. Dhunche, the administrative center of Rasuwa District, is a peaceful mountain town. In the evening, explore the village and meet friendly locals. Overnight in Dhunche.

  • Day 3 : Trek from Dhunche (1,960m) to Chandanbari (3,330m)

After breakfast, begin your trek following the Trishuli River past Ghatte Khola to Deurali, a small settlement with tea houses. Continue to Dhimsa, enjoying streams and waterfalls along the way. The final stretch is a steady uphill climb through beautiful pine forests to reach Chandanbari, also known as Sing Gompa. Here, you can visit a monastery and a famous yak cheese factory. Overnight in Chandanbari.

  • Day 4 : Trek from Chandanbari (3,330m) to Gosaikunda (4,380m)

Today’s trek is more challenging as you ascend through rugged terrain. From Chandanbari, hike to Cholangpati for stunning views of Langtang Lirung, Langtang Ri, Manaslu, and Ganesh Himal. Continue to Lauribina and then to Buddha Temple. Along the way, you’ll pass Saraswati Kunda and Bhairab Kunda before reaching the sacred Gosaikunda Lake. Spend the evening exploring the surrounding alpine lakes and soaking in the views. Overnight in Gosaikunda.

  • Day 5 : Trek from Gosaikunda (4,380m) to Dhunche (1,960m)

After a morning walk around Gosaikunda Lake, retrace your steps downhill through Lauribina, Cholangpati, Dhimsa, and Deurali. Enjoy changing landscapes, mountain vistas, and perhaps sightings of rare wildlife such as the Wood Snipe, Snow Partridge, Tibetan Snowcock, or the endangered Red Panda. The descent is easier but still rewarding. Overnight in Dhunche.

  • Day 6 : Drive from Dhunche (1,960m) to Kathmandu (1,400m)
