The Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is one of the most scenic and popular short treks in the Annapurna region of Nepal. Perfect for beginners, families, or trekkers with limited time, this route offers breathtaking views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Himalayan ranges without the need to go to extreme altitudes. Starting from Pokhara, the trail winds through beautiful villages, lush rhododendron forests, and terraced farmlands. The main highlight is the sunrise view from Poon Hill (3,210 m), one of the best panoramic viewpoints in the Himalayas. This low-altitude trek is ideal for all age groups and requires no prior trekking experience.

Detailed Itinerary

  • Day 1 : Arrive in Kathmandu (1,300m)

    Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, meet our representative and transfer to your hotel. Trek briefing and orientation in the evening.

  • Day 2 : Kathmandu City Tour

    Explore the historical and cultural highlights of Kathmandu Valley including Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath Stupa, Patan Durbar Square, and Kumari Temple. Free time for shopping or trek prep.

  • Day 3 : Kathmandu to Pokhara (910m)

    After breakfast, take a scenic 6–7 hour drive or a 25-minute flight to Pokhara, a beautiful lakeside city. Enjoy a relaxing walk around Phewa Lake in the evening.

  • Day 4 : Drive to Naya Pul, trek to Ulleri (2,070m)

    Drive to Naya Pul (approx. 1.5 hours). Begin trekking along the Modi Khola, passing through Birethanti, Hile, and Tikhedhunga. Climb steep stone stairs to reach Ulleri, a large Magar village.

  • Day 5 : Trek to Ghorepani (2,850m)

    Ascend through lush rhododendron and oak forests, passing Banthanti and Nangethanti before reaching Ghorepani, a picturesque village with stunning mountain views.

  • Day 6 : Poon Hill Sunrise and Trek to Tadapani (2,625m)

    Pre-dawn hike to Poon Hill (3,210m) for panoramic sunrise views over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. Return to Ghorepani for breakfast, then trek through forest trails to Tadapani.

  • Day 7 : Trek to Ghandruk (1,940m)

    Descend through rhododendron forests to reach Ghandruk, a traditional Gurung village. Explore the village and visit the local museum.

  • Day 8 : Trek to Nayapul – Drive to Pokhara

    Trek through scenic landscapes and villages to reach Birethanti, then drive back to Pokhara. Rest and relax by the lakeside.

  • Day 9 : Pokhara – Kathmandu

    After breakfast, drive or fly back to Kathmandu. Transfer to your hotel and enjoy a farewell dinner or last-minute shopping.

  • Day 10 : Final Departure

    Transfer to the international airport for your onward flight.
